If the world is a stage and the people merely players then I want to spend my life being part of a play within a play. On stage is where I come alive. Emotions long since forgotten spring back. And I smile, I cry, I yell, but most of all I laugh. Even when I'm not acting happy, inside my head is the laughter. This laughter can only be heard when I'm on stage, and I'm the only one who can hear it. They can see it though. HTe entire audience can see the laughter if they look hard enough. They don't reconize it for what it is, this unmistakeable gleam in my eye. They call it many different things, but my mother is the one who pegs it for what it is. She knows it's why I act. Why I risk embarrasment, why I get up there and give it my all come what may. It's what makes me human, this abiltity to hear this laughter. I used to doubt if I was really alive until I became a thespian. Now I know I'm more alive on stage than most people will ever be.

i love all of it. every part of the theater. my godfather plays in a pitband for operas that i sometimes get ot go to and love. I particpate in everyhting and anything that happens on the stage in my school. I was recently in the maple pageant -my town's beauty pageant-not b/c i'm beautiful, but b/c i couldnn't miss a chance to be on stage. Tomorrow we are doing our play(The Dining Room) that won local competoin dram this year for our school. Last fall we did Anything Goes (Broadway musical). I was Nancy in Oliver and Cassandra in The Brother's O'toole during JH.
I really want to do Cortland Reporty Theater(Local theater) but have to much going on at my summer camp. I was in pit band for Annie last year, but only b/c i was too young to be in it.
I lvoe broadway plays, but i hope htat where ever I go to college has a theater program witha little more meat than the one at my school. we get absolutly no funding from the school itself, so we have set up a drama program with it's own funfraisers and such. nyway thanks for the interest you probably don't care about any of htis stuff I was just psyched from being on stage for the pageant. ciao -ALG

I'm finally at college now, and my college has a Theatre program "with a little more meat on it." I'm actually a Theatre / Psychology major, believe it or not. I have no clue what I'm going to do it with after school, but there's no doubt in my mind that this is where I'm supposed to be and what I'm supposed to be doing, especially after reading this post from when I was way younger. I cannot believe anyone could actually decipher all the spelling errors! Ahhh the good old days when my computer did not have spellcheck.....

Anyway, I was looking back on my old work hoping for something to spark my mind running so that I can create an advertisement for myself for my Theatre class tomorrow. Basically, I have one minute to sell myself to everyone in the auditorium.
Reading this little ball of excitement from a much younger me really hit home on why I am here.

It's because I am passionate about Theatre.

Anyway, if anyone has any creative ideas about my 60 seconds of campaiging, email me with them or post them here.

Isn't it funny how I've changed so much in the last three years, but some things will always be the same?
