Mr. Santa Claus
#1 Cold St., North Pole
00001

Dear Santa
I know you must think I’ve lost it,
please hear me out.
I’ve been a good boy for the past 73 years,
that is, I did my best.
You’ve been around a long, long time,
longer than myself.

I’m thinking Dear Santa you have seen it all,
heard it all as well.
So maybe this won’t strike you, at all odd,
me waiting all these years.
Because you see Santa, I never believed,
when I was a kid.

In May of 98 is when I began to believe,
that’s when Gloria past.
You know, my family has all moved away,
don’t see them much.
I get lonely now then in this quite place,
not hearing her voice.

I hadn’t ask of you in all those years,
thought I had no need.
This is the reason why I’m sending you now,
one item on my list.
A special phone Santa, to call my Gloria in Heaven,
I know she’s in.

Thank you Santa.
Jackie

One special phone.Wouldn't this be so nice. But I have this feeling,..even though you may not hear her voice coming back,..she hears you talking all day long.In fact there's a really good chance that she's right there by your side although you may not know it. wink

This was by far the best letter and post for this holiday. Thanks for sharing your heart. smile

Ah, Jack, This one put a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye...My heart goes out to you in your loss...just this past June I lost my Dad at 83...he died 2 days before his 61st wedding anniversary...my Mom is having a difficult time adjusting to the loss...wish you were close by...she could use your good company and kind heart!

I know you will feel Gloria's presence this holiday season...I know Santa will arrange it! wink
Holiday Blessings...

Simply beautiful and heart touching. I wish so much that this one gift could be granted you. I have spent these past few months watching my father dying and know the ache you must feel. The other night I came home to my father and a buddy of his watching old vidio tapes of my father hunting and trapping. I stood there and cried because I realized that it has been almost three years now since I had last heard my fathers voice.(he is dying of throat cancer and had his voicebox removed) what struck me the most though was when I began to think that in a very short time, there will be so many things about him that I will forget when he is gone.....You have touched my heart with this work and I shed tears for your own loss......Gem frown

I thought you were going for 'cute' and you went and tore my heart out.

Your love and devotion for Gloria have infused just about everything you've posted here. I have to agree with sentra - I think you've found your phone - unfortunately the voice from the other side is muffled. She has to hear you, and feel your words.

Perhaps you'll get the upgrade this Christmas, and be able to hear her, too. Listen hard, friend - I think she's calling.

(When you do get that line, let me know, OK? I've got a few folks there I need to check in with, too.)

Great letter, I hope for you that Santa is listening. It seems like you deserve it this holiday season. Keep your mind and heart open and I'm you'll be able to feel Gloria.

Thanks for posting.

jchill,

The holidays bring out your best writing but at the expense of your heart. May your heart heal old friend.

Next year I will do my best (if I am still around) to bump this up to the top.

Up in heaven all of Gloria's friends have gathered around her and are so happy that her husband is still writing her love poetry. She is the envy of all heaven if envy is allowed. If envy is not allowed, they are all so grateful of your love for her. She is too Jack. Count on it my friend. For a while you will not hear her reply. But the day will come when you will truly understand how much it meant to her all these years.

Thank you Jack. Yes Jack, there is a Santa.

I can't think of more noble, warm-hearted wish... which is fitting for a noble, warm-hearted sort of person like yourself.

Beautiful, beautiful words...
Thank you for sharing!

A Christmas wish from the heart Jack.

The voices may fade but a love so strong will last eternal.

I hope this holiday season will find you at peace and with your memories strong of your beloved.

Dear Jack,
My Christmas wish this year is that Santa has heard your wish (I hope and think he has… so has Gloria).
A touching poem bleeding with love.
Stay strong… and have faith, dear.
Merry X-mas to you and all you love.
Merry X-mas to everyone... have faith~

This was just beautiful Jack. I'm in tears, literally. You portrayed your love for Gloria perfectly in a couple of words.

Merry Christmas Buddy

May all your wishes come true this Christmas.

Keep on smiling... Smile

This X-mas too dwells your love in your heart, and this X-mas too your friends hope along with you, for reunions.
