you brought me
into this world

you were suppose to
hold my hand
walk by my side
guide me
through life

where were you?

the other kids
parents were
always there
for parents day
games
performances

why not you?

their parents
they all looked
so proud

were you ever proud?

kids were always saying
how my mom took me here
my dad took me there
they told
so many stories
from so many memories
they would turn
to me and wait
for mine, but

as you know

i had none
not one
fond memory to share

why not?

i watched
as parents
and children
would smile
and laugh

was i wrong
to want the same?

all i wanted
was a smile
to hear
praise
to feel
loved

why did i hear nothing,
feel nothing?

just once
i wanted
to know that feeling

just once

but i never did
and i never will...

I really liked this one. I liked the way that there was the poem but then your thought's in italics. I love it when people do that in poems. Good Job. As for a title I don't know - I'm not too good at stuff like that - I'm sure you'll find the right one for it though.

This question seems to haunt the whole poem, asking for just one word from your parents- one word to let you know how they feel about you, and that they love you and want you. *sigh* I'm sorry it's like this, thanks for sharing. Well done.
