ahhh...great "nonsense" poem..and I mean that as a compliment!! It's funny, I've been tossing around something very similar in my head...kind of a nonsense children's poem using a lot of alliteration/animals...just haven't gotten it on paper yet.

I simply loved this poem. Very clever and cute!
Thanks for putting a smile on my face.

Only thing is, I now have that song from an old Shirley Temple movie stuck in my head......Animal crackers in my soup.....arrrgh it won't go away!

This was fun. I'll look out for more. PJ

OOPS... it appears you are correct. My 87 year old father (the author) is currently writing a new stanza for "Q". Is there any way I can "cut and Paste" it into the existing poem?? Or do I need to repost?
In any event, we thank you for this oversight.

Many, many Bravo's to your Father for this excellent , giggly grouping Smile. He has allowed us all a peak into a silly place, Bravo Gem

As for the edits, all you need to do is hit the edit button at the top of your post and you should be able to go from there. Please also (if you've not already done so) give Author Credit to your father in the post. That's a sticky subject here, all works must be from the posting Author, at 87 his would be an honor to be shown here. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Please send your father the bouquets of roses we're throwing at his feet.

I loved the Naught Newt.

As for the ORANGATANG - first I checked because I have been told that for years I was pronouncing it wrong, and that there was no "G" at the end. Looked it up on Dictionary.com. Found "ORANGUTANG" as a synonym for "orangutan". So, the word was correct, with just a typo. Loved that stanza, too! (OK, so I'm a push-over for anything with "Hava-na-gilla" - and I wonder how many members have no idea what it is!)

one thing, even though Im probably wrong, i dont think an orangutan (or however its spelled) is a gorilla, im not near a dictionary but hey who knows.

Im serious when I say, contact a publisher, you could get this in print I'm sure.

Happy writing
