This Poem Was A Tasty Treat coming from a brother who lived and shared much love in "Southern Comfort!" Mom will kill you if you make people think we use "Jiffy Mix!" to make corn bread.

Damn! Rico! Can Our Family Keep It's Secrets :-)

It's been a long time since i've visited this favourite haunt of mine and the moment i saw the name Rico i knew it'd be worth reading. So thank you for the fantastic welcome back, a simple sentiment worded perfectly, it has that rare ability of slipping off the tongue like i wish i could get my own work to do.

I love to read this every Thanksgiving...and I can see I bumped it once in August, just because it's such a "feel good" kind of piece. I just realized I bumped it on exactly this day last year...my inner senses must start craving some good down home cookin' at this time every year!

Happy Thanksgiving, ALL! Thank you, Rico, for sharing this wonderful piece a couple of years ago..I never grow tired of it!

Here I am again, bumping my favorite Thanksgiving poem. I'm a bit early this year, but I don't want to forget, if I should get too busy next week...plus this way we get to enjoy it a few days longer! Smile

Miss you and your words, Rico, dear friend! Hope all is well

I can not say I disagree or agree, but I really liked the poem. Hymsa reminded me (I'm not sure how to spell that) we used to sing in elementary school. I can imagine a school with their school song or something.

This corn bread love poem must be the all time favorite pone of corn bread ever baked at Q.L.

Why don't someone write a poem about biscuits.

It will be exactly 9 years to the day tomorrow that I bumped this in honor of Thanksgiving. I still love the warm, homey feel to this piece and bump it for anyone who might have missed it.~~lb~~

LB glad you bumped it. I had forgotten all about this one - it's a masterpiece from way way back in time. Rico is a master, so hope he sees the bump.

Good on you for bumping!!

Ask me anything on Charles Dickens. Mrs. Micawber to young Copperfield. "Boy, as I have frequently had occasion to observe, When the stomach is empty, the spirits are low."
