cyberlaol and Rajesh - thank you.

To LWAS - I'm honored that you consider me an inspiration. As for "big words" - sometimes I use 'em, and sometimes I don't. It has to fit the poem and the mood I'm trying to set. A sophisticate theme - especially when trying to layer meanings upon meanings, requires a sophisticated vocabulary. As for your 'complex' about the present state of your work: If your posted birthday is correct, I have a quite a bit more experience and practice under my belt. There's a very good reason I've never posted the poems I wrote as a teenager - most of the writers here, in that age group, are light-years ahead of where I was. You are one of them. Keep practicing, and most of all, keep being willing to try and to learn. Keep reading, too - other poets, new and old. I'm sure that when you're as ancient as I am, there will be many young writers using you as an inspiration, and I will be one of your biggest fans.

Now - a private note to a certain partner who claimed he posted a reply that mysteriously never appeared, and even more mysteriously never re-appeared. Whassamatter? Is this one a little to intellectual for a gearhead? smile

I don't know Rhon, I was certain that I'd checked in on this one. Perhaps it's just the advancing years taking their toll on an already weak mind. I could never let a piece as good as this go unanswered if I had full control of my senses and memory.

You would have loved it up here this fall, the North Woods put on a display that hasn't been rivalled in over 35 years. I probably should've flown you out for the show.

When I first read this I thought that you were in a down frame of mind. I'm pleased to learn that you were only commenting on the fall colors disappearing for another year.

An excellent piece, written by one of the best. Thank you for it.

And when the leaves had fallen
And the skies had turned to gray
All 'twas left was longing
For the peaceful mournful day.

Hello all I am new here. I've been researching on internet after the local bird store told me the bird I had a dream about last night was called the Phoenix. In my dream I stood on the street and heard squawking from birds. As I turned around I was shocked to see 2 birds flying one above the other and one of them was set on fire, totally engulfed in flames yet continued to fly higher. I was so sad and wondered what he had touched to catch himself on fire? He still seemed so strong flying as though it was nothing unusual for him... The lady at the bird store told me who he was. So as curiosity got to me I had to know more about him and found your forum. She said "You saw him!! He is alive!!!" Cool dream eh? Just had to tell ya....
