Michael Palin? Isn't he a British funnyman? Even though I love funny men from Britian, they are useless to my devious plan of US domination I'm afraid.

E.E. I would ask you to marry me except I am already married up but my good friend who is a professor at a University is not married up. The only problem is that he is not a condervative or a Palin supporter. I think that he is 45 years old, divorced, one grown daughter.

Well I just called my my friend and he is 49 and not 45 so I stand corrected. (I would swear that he told me he was 45 this year but some folks have an issue with age and cannot remember when they lied.) I can remember that E.E. had a birthday topic this year and she turned 46 but she could pass herself off as a younger woman. Sometimes younger women will ask me my age (for some odd reason). Last year a woman asked me my age I said I was 50. She said that I looked to be 35. (I have not looked 35 since I was 30.) Nowdays I am 51 but I will be eligible for early retirement next August at the ripe old age of 52.

My bud is actually assistant professor of English literature at Union U. in Jackson. We don't have very much in common except poetry, literature and having a meal now and then. We have been hiking and canoeing a time or two. He travels more than the Harlem Globetrotters and we send each other postcards from time to time. He is working on his Ph.D of some variety. He espcially likes to go to concerts. Last year we went to see some famous country music woman sing at the song writers workshop at the Casey Jones Village. We have nick names for each other and I have no less than for a few nick names for him which include:

Clovis R. Stanley Jr.
The Reverend Clovis R. Stanley
Hernado De Soto Stanley
R. Longfellow Stanley

I will send him a postcard under one of these names and put something obvious on the card that will give the mail man a laugh.

"I hope that your clabber cod is better."

He wrote a poem titled Red Suead Shoes after the election in 2004. It is a tribute to Carl Perkins Blue Suead Shoes.

We don't discuss religion or politcs very much and he attended the poetry breakfast that I organized for April 1, 2008. I organized the Fellowship of Disenchanted Poets as an April Fools gag and I gave out fools gold to everyone who attended.

Clovis is aiming to come to my turkey shoot next Saturday. All of my other buds are married up.

Well it is Mundy and I am off from work because we went to a 4-day week. Now my employer is leaning toward putting us all on a 4 eight-hour days to avoid a lay off. This will mean a twnety percent cut in pay. This will be decided soon and will be implemented after the first of the new year. Othewise there will be a layoff. I've got enough tenure to avoid being laid off and I can absorb a cut in pay. Some folks will suffer badly by a twenty percent cut in pay.

As I ponder the title of this topic I now understand with clarity that within the deed lies the reasaon. There is always a reason for posting. The reason may be boredom or it may be an outlet for expression that does not fit another topic. There is always a reason.

"The supreme triump of reason is to cast doubt upon its own validity."

--Somebody (?)

The reason that I am posting is that I woke up early and I needed an outlet for expression. The reason that I woke up early is that there is a quizzical matter that was irritating me but it is of a business nature and it will be resolved eventually.

Within the reason lies a deed.

Now I can go back to bed and get another hour of sleep.

Listening to Carmina Burana makes this embarrassingly stupid assignment bearable. Thank god for youtube.

I was very pleased to just learn that The Edmond's Cookbook is NZ's best-selling book of any kind, and not the Bible.
