Welcome to quoteland NashG. I hope you find everything to your liking and even, if you are a writer, make some time to share some of your works in the poetry and prose, or workshop forums.
Hello NashG. Welcome to Quoteland. I suggest you remove the ad from your signature though. I notice it's almost exactly the same link as gomes123 and NYK007 have necro-posted on Debate Forum. Funny that, isn't it?

I am Mike and have been visiting for a few weeks, but not posted yet.
I am British but live in Thailand and teach. I have been here for 5 years, but have previously been in China as an Engineering Manager of Car Design.
I am Buddhist, adore Thai culture, simplicity of lifestyle, food, weather, and of course the beauty that walks here!
I am happily married with children, and I am also married to the children I teach in a way. There is nothing more delightful to see the smile and satisfaction on the face of a child, after they have realised they have succeeded.
I am well travelled, knowledgeable and fun. I have a dry sense of psychotic humour and may well lose you in some posts.
I am a gent; placid, sensitive and not afraid of confrontation. However, Dhamma teaches me to think carefully before I react to any sight or sound or other sense. I rarely, if at all, carry frustration or anger.
I am pleased to have found such a useful site.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart and you shall see, that in truth, you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

On the other hand, its nice to see a lot of the old members cropping back on these boards. A few days back I saw Petrarch log in.
So here's a big ((((((((((HUG)))))))))). If you still want your original username back, you can PT TheNostromo and I'm sure something can be arranged. Welcome Back!!!!

Really great forums to see beautiful quotes from all users. I have my own quote:
"Surely none can remain inactive even for a moment. All those who are born here with the qualities of nature are forced to act helplessly according to their nature."
Enjoyed this site for more then an hour. Now I am fan of it.
Thank you Jeff! Hope you come back more often. ~ Ananya

Hello. For years, I have quietly and with a lazy attitude, searched for a constructive internet forum. This looks good. I began writing in earnest Jan. 10, 2009. I began writing because I was inspired, and I felt inspired by reading, and I was reading because I had nothing else to do, and I felt I should or could write because my whole life people told me either A...'you would be good at writing..', or B...'you are good at writing...' or C. ...'you should write that down..'
I began 1/10, and by 1/28/09, had a 50,000 word prose rant piece.
Since then, I have been thrashed at the hands of an Iowa University Graduate and published author, and made into what HE thinks, is a 'better' writer.
I dont honestly know. I am here to find out. I seek guidance. Today I began a new piece, I believe the 800 words are the strongest first 800 I have ever done.
This year I also created a 22,000 word short story dealing in metaphysical/spiritual horror/science-fiction,
and about 20 super-short stories ranging from a woman under a tree in a dress with a Coke to a salesman stranded in Kansas to a future anthropologist of the national state travelling space to witness and document then arrest if necessary; an evil dictator.
HELP!
plus, i have about 200 poems and/or song lyrics, as my main passion in life is music.
I hope you have a pleasant time whilst here. This is a good place for you to get inspiration I think.
Keep up the writing.
A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. -- George Bernard Shaw: (1856-1950) English dramatist, critic.
I was just 'driving' by and thought I'd stop in and say HI. It's good to see so many familiar 'faces' after all these years!! Hope everyone is well and happy.
"Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I will not forget you." ~William Arthur Ward
