The study estimated that people with a gun were 4.5 times more likely to be shot in an assault than those not possessing a gun.
Very interesting. I wonder if bringing out a gun and shouting, "Do you feel lucky, punk?", might initiate a negative response in the assailant.

I might just try to read the whole study sometime.

Well, it MIGHT initiate the the positive response of an immediate reception of 4.5 badass points to the victim.

NASA Bombs Moon to find water

Isn't anything sacred anymore?

I'm wondering why they want to find water there... probably so that they can colonise moon and pollute the waters there too. Whatever happened to the space treaty & law? ...and then Obama gets the Nobel for promoting nuclear dis-armament. What hypocrisy!

That NASA moon bombing is interesting.
So, now we know what really caused all those craters on the moon, right?

Cultural Blunders

I remember hearing about one of Vauxhall's blunders. They tried to introduce a new car into Mexico. Rather than change the name they kept 'Nova' probably because it saved money on labels etc.
Those of you who speak Spanish will know that 'no va' loosely translates as 'no go'.
Not a good name for a car!

Also, Toyota's MR2 didn't go down too well in France. Using French pronunciation the name sounds like 'em air deux'. Spoken quickly it sounds like 'merde'. French for shit.
