As some/most of you (I hope!) know by now, one of this site's greatest members is going to be a daddy!!! So with KO's permission, I wanted to start a thread where he can update us, ask questions, post pictures, etc. Likewise, those of us with kids, with experience w/ kids, etc., can do the same for him (whether he wants it or not!! )...just have fun and go to town with this!!!
Sooo from me to you: I'd just like to say you're going to make a fantastic dad, Max. We've exchanged many emails over the years and your sense of humor, intelligence, love, care, compassion and character will bless you with an amazing child one day. Your little Max Jr. or Maxine is going to be in the best hands a baby could ask for. Here's wishing your wife (and you!) a healthy and happy pregnancy.
So from Aunt Amy Beth...

Instead of sending the rest of you this mail below, I might as well post it here and save you less e-mail in your inbox or trashcan.
I am now a father of an embryo. A few days ago it was Blastocyst. A week ago probably a Zygote. It'll be a fetus soon and hopefully I'll be a father of that too. May be a fetus is the new baby - like pink is the new black? Is this too soon to start labeling things? He/she will be Libran but that wouldn't help him/her avoiding tax. My physician should know more about the unknowns. May be I should find an MD/psychiatrist/psychoanalyst ... who also do tarot reading?
I know ... I know ... one step out of time (like the alcoholics).
This website is like a family to me. I want to share a story with everyone. It's a story that we only share with a few close friends and family. BTW, this is my 4,000 posts.
Blue sapphire
Something amazing happened 2 days ago. My wife didn't tell anyone yet because the line on the pregnancy test was very very thin (almost transparent). I couldn't help myself so I told my parents over the phone. They were ecstatic! My mom said she had a dream last night that she was traveling with our family and a few friends. One of the family friends (the daughter of the wealthiest guy in Thailand) told my mom that she is looking for the most extravagance blue sapphire. The way she described it, it had to be the most precious of all sapphires. She went down the cave to look for it while my mom was waiting outside the cave. After a while my mom heard my voice calling her from the cave (I wanted to show her something).
It thought it was quite interesting. After that I checked when my baby will be born. She'll be a Libran ... I was checking out her zodiac sign and to my surprise; Libran star color is BLUE and star stone is SAPPHIRE! I was in SHOCK! Yesterday I found out more interesting history/facts about blue sapphire. It seems that the Hindu believes that sapphire is a gemstone for Taurus (my wife) and the Arabs believe that the sapphire is a gemstone for Gemini (me).
Believe it or not?

Hope you find something to help you and your wife on your journey to parent-hood.

Great list there Phantom Delta, and MBB that's a good website!
It's weird, but some of my friends have had kids by now and I was never as excited as when I heard KO's news. (Shhh don't tell anyone. ) I guess, like he said, this website is like a family to me, too, and for some odd reason I feel more connected to everyone here, rather than people I see every day. If that makes sense! So excuse me if I get overly excited or keep replying to this, I just really want to make this thread special.
Have you thought about names yet? How did your friends react when you told them the news? (Great story, by the way, about the blue sapphire. Talk about dreams coming true!)

Best of luck to you and your lovely wife, Max! I'm sure you'll make a spectacular daddy.
And when you first see it on the sonogram, when it's only 2 cm long but looks like a baby in every other way, and you see and hear its heartbeat for the first time, I guarantee you'll fall madly in love with the little person.
