Well FairGwen, another year has passed. One year ago today you received similar congratulations here. Since that day one year ago many things have happened, many good, many not so good. But you're still here with us, and making this place better by your presence. I know that you've had a bit of a rough go of it lately, yet you're still around making all of our days just a little bit brighter, because you're not a quitter.
You have a way of making all those about you feel brighter, and warmer - just from knowing you. You are indeed one of a kind, dear Fair...Please don't ever change.
You gave us this little gem on your last birthday. I simply had to bring it back because it speaks volumes about you:
quote:
Things have changed since I was little
With my dresses and piggy tails.
Looking at all the changes in the past
I fear what the future entails.
I remember My Little Pony
and the stunning Rainbow Bright.
And a time when someone calling you "phat"
was a very good reason to fight.
In elementary school, I learned
that out of 9 planets, Earth was the 3rd.
And on the playground, I learned the difference
between a dork, a butt, and a terd.
I remember playing with Jacks
and using a record player.
I remember laughing at baggy pants
And playing truth or dare.
I remember oversized t-shirts
worn with tight, neon spandex pants.
And I can recall when mustard
beat Raid's way of killing ants.
I remember when "Like A Virgin"
Made the world gasp and shout
Now, the motto of most people is
"Let it all hang out."
The fad has switched to silver
from Mr.T's yellowish gold
The world as I know it is crumbling!
*sigh* I'm getting old.
Things have changed since I was little
With my dresses and piggy tails.
But the most exciting part of life
is not knowing what the future entails...
quote:
No one knows what the future holds my dear friend, but I certainly hope that yours is the brightest of all.
And in that future, may you have only the happiest memories of this special day.
Ron
