Affy? Hey, that's ok - it makes a change from you incessantly blathering on and on about your fabulously interesting life of tax bills and breakfasts!

Since the topic of jealousy's been extended (rather oddly, it seems to me, by Bumble-Brain - she of loose morals and even looser underwear!) and since The Who are The Greatest Rock Group of all time (and are, as is often the case, the group spinnin' on me turntable at this precise moment)... I'm happy to be listenin' to the rather apt (For Max: The West ain't made up entirely of tarts and treats) Trick Of The Light.
You've gotta love The Who, esp. in light of the demise of the self-proclaimed King of Bullshit, Michael jackson (Michael Jackson had so much plastic surgery, they've decided to recycle him. They've chosen to make him into some Lego bricks, so the kids can play with him, rather than the other way 'round.

"Wide awake in the middle of the night
I wonder how she's feelin'
Is it just a trick of the light
Or is her ceiling peeling?
She's sitting up in bed,
shakin' her head
At a copy of "True Confessions"
Ooh, it must seem like a fairy tale
To a woman of her profession
But was I all right?
Did I take you to the height of ecstasy?
Was I all right?
Did a shadow of emotion cross your face
Or was it just another trick of the light?
But was I all right?
Did I take you to the height of ecstasy?
Was I all right?
Did a shadow of emotion cross your face
Or was it just another trick of the light? Come on, tell me
What's a nice girl like you doin' in a place like this?
They don't make girls like you no more
And I'd like to get to know you
On closer terms than this
But I guess you've heard it all before
Lady of the night
Won't you steal away with me?
Lady of the night
Won't you steal away with me?
The money's lyin' on the floor, she looks at me Shakes her head and sighs
Out of time, out the door
Red light shinin' in my eyes
But was I all right?
Did I take you to the height of ecstasy?
Was I all right?
Did a shadow of emotion cross your face
All right?
But was I all right? All right?
"

Well, Max, was... ?!

Gotta love The 'Oo. And 'onesty; you've gotta love 'onesty. Casual sex and money? Nah - give me decent morals, 'onesty and decency any time.

Well I am happy that I didn’t wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. And I am delighted that the bed bugs didn’t bite. (I’ve been an-itching and a-scratching because those chiggers are a-biting.) It was really quite refreshing to go outside this morning to discover that the temperature was a cool 62 degrees. I am happy that my dog hiker didn’t get run over by a car during the night. I am happy that our house didn’t burn down last year before Christmas time. I am happy that I got the grounds mowed and groomed this past weekend. I am happy that my teeth have not rotted out and I don’t need dentures. I am happy with Colgate toothpaste, Listerine mouthwash, Dial soap, Arm & Hammer deodorant and Skin Bracer after shave. I am happy that I didn’t have to go to the E.R. this weekend. I am happy that almost all the wild game in our freezer chest is almost consumed. Now I want have to worry about the meat getting freezer burned. I am happy that the buzzards have quite having diarrhea on top of my solar powered fish feeder. I’ll be happier once the months of July and August have passed and the college football season kicks off. I am really happy that the Florida Gators beat the Oklahoma Sooners to win the National Championship. I am happy that I don’t have a glass eyeball or a wooden leg or metal plate in my skull.

In 2009 I have purchased a new gun safe and one new .44 pistol. I am happy that I didn’t blow my left thumb off when the revolver double fired one day while I was test firing the gun. I am happy that I have not had to shoot anyone this year that might be trying to rob me or do me bodily harm. I am pleased with the new green gates that I have installed. The gates are a cedar green. They remind me of the money in the bank that I earned from selling some timber in 2007. I am happy that only one person contributing to this topic is not happy.

Did I say what I had for breakfast? I had grits with bacon bits and shredded cheese, orange juice and skim milk. Yesterday I went to the Huddle House for breakfast and had eggs on toast. The waitess there had her yellowed teeth cleaned and they just didn't look exatcly right being all white.

I am so happy of this hypocrite world we live in

I really do. The world would be such a horrible place if we were to speak our mind. Would you really like your parents, wife, husband, kids, heroes ... even yourself if everyone speaks the truth? If on the day before MJ died, you asked someone about MJ, you might have heard totally different comments from now. Now he is dead and he is St.Michael. It’s so fantastic. The world is fake, people are fake ... make life worth living. Sometimes people are so hypocrite ... they like to call out others as hypocrites only to feel better about themselves. Nobody is all that perfect living life under a microscope. The true hypocrites live in a shell.

In recent days I have come to the conclusion that I am the worst person ever. If it were up to some person, I would look up to the devil - I am located so far below hell. Since I am not in hell just yet, I would like to dedicate this song to all the people who are pretending that they are not a hypocrite :

"Man In The Mirror"

'I'm Gonna Make A Change,
For Once In My cyberspace Life
It's Gonna Feel Real Good,
Gonna stop pissing people off
Gonna stop being a wanker tonight . . .

As I, Turn Up The Collar On My
Brit Winter Coat (made by a freaking Polish)
This fake Wind Is Blowin' My Mind
I See fake politicians In The Street,
With Not Enough To Eat
Who Am I, am I Blind?
Pretending Not To See
Their greeds
The English are corrupted,
The poor Asians without hubs
And One Vietnamese's Soul
They Follow Each Other to
L.A. Ya' Know
'Cause They Got Nowhere
To Go
But they know how to run a grocery though

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You weren’t born politically gifted
Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change
(Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,
Na Nah – don’t be an a-hole)

I've Been A Victim Of A Selfish
Kind Of Love
It's Time That I Realize
Nobody give a shit on what I have to say
Not my political view, not my social skill
Could It Be? Really Me?
Pretending That I am talking to this website on my own?
Alone?

If someone is Deeply Scarred,
Somebody's Broken Heart
I will bash them over and over their silly
Washed-Out Dream (like I don't have mine)
I don’t Follow The Pattern Of guidelines
I don’t follow the rules
Cause I Got No Place
I rather be here
Cause nobody else really listen to me

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You weren’t born politically gifted
At least don’t be an ahole and criticize others
by calling them a hypocrite
(Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,
Na Nah – don’t be an a-hole)
I'm Gonna Make A Change
It's Gonna Feel Real Good!
Come On!
(Change . . .)
Just Lift Yourself
You Know
You've Got To Stop It.
Yourself!
(Yeah!-Make That Change!)
I've Got To Make That Change,
Today!
Hoo!
(Man In The Mirror)
You Got To
You Got To Not Let Yourself . . .
Brother . . .
Hoo!
(Yeah!-Make That Change!).
Stand Up! Stand Up!
Stand Up!
(Yeah-Make That Change)
Stand Up And Lift
Yourself, Now!
(Man In The Mirror)
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!
Aaow!
(Yeah-Make That Change)
Gonna Make That Change . . .
Come On!
(Man In The Mirror)
You Know It!
You Know It!
You Know It!
You Know . . .
(Change . . .)
Make That Change'

So, I had a pretty awesome lunch today. Chicago style hotdogs are the best. Then I went and opened a checking account and deposited some checks I'd been putting off. On the way home, some guy said, "Hello!" and I was all like "Who the hell are you and why are you talking to me! Rrraargh!"

Okay, that aside, I'm pretty excited because tomorrow I'm going to Michigan for a music festival. I get to watch all the hippies writhe around in their acid fantasy worlds. Hee hee, there is no better people-watching to be found. Also, Bob Dylan.

On June 29th, I was riding my ATV while my dog Hiker was running alongside. As I dove out of the pines to the top of the levee (on the return trip) the dog got ahead of me. There was a snake on the top of the levee that coiled and struck at the running dog. She never slowed down. Not more than two seconds later I watched that damned viper strike at my right front tire then return to a coil with an open white mouth. It all happened so quickly that I could hardly believe the good fortune of my dog not getting bitten. One might say that she had dodged a bullet. I am happy that my dog didn’t get snake bitten (it has happened before and it is an ugly sight.) I drove back to the house as fast as the Honda 420 could carry me. I fetched my Marlin .22 and some snake shot cartridges then drove back to the top of the levee but the snake had slithered off into high grass.

Presently there are medical problems with some of my family members and some difficulties in my life that I am diligently working to resolve but there ARE certainly things to be happy about.

The ghost that lives in our attic has apparently moved out of our house because we have had no paranormal activity in months.

My daughter has a fairly new car to drive and she is happy with the car.

My son has become independent and is living in an apartment.

My wife has a lucrative job offer for a part time job that pays $40.00 per hour. She can work four hours and earn $160.00 every Saturday that she works.

My father is out of the hospital and is recovering as well as can be expected.

My brother has a new home and he and his wife are happily married.

I subscribed to CSS on satellite television and I can watch replays of college football games from 2008.

College football kicks off in 8 weeks.

It's been a gloriously lazy Saturday today. It's been raining, and there's a cold front on the way. Got some DVD's and intend spending the night in bed with a bowl of popcorn. Big Grin

Couple of things to be happy about.
1. Number two son (16) got his exam results today: 8 credits. 5 at grade 1 and 3 at grade 2. House is less stressed now.

2. My dad had a transoesophageal echocardiogram which showed no atrial thrombus and then he had an Atrial Flutter Ablation which has kicked his heart back into rhythm and blood pressure this morning is at 120/61. As a result it's likely that he can have a couple of operations to remove the tumour in his colon and the small tumours in his liver. Previously his consultant didn't think it worthwhile but since the tumours are 'indolent' the doc reckons it will increase his life expectancy to operate.
Although I've now come to terms with the fact that he won't live forever (that came as a bit of a shock!) he will live longer than was expected.

Wonderful news, Asa! On both pieces you shared. While I'm not familiar with the examinations in Scotland, I take it your son's results were very good indeed. Maybe you can share a little what that means for him now...

Very relieved to hear your dad's news, too. His blood pressure seems close to, if not perfect and I'll continue to pray that his operations go smoothly. Hope is alive in your neck of the woods!! Thank you for the updates. Smile

Leaving for Canada on Saturday...it will be nice to get away from work and this area for a while. Looking forward to fishing, swimming and relaxing. It's my "home away from home" and I can't wait! Hope everyone else has been doing well lately. Cool

This morning I discovered something a bit unusual after I arrived at my work station. On the shelf above my p.c. there is a brand new (unopened) plastic dispenser containing Speed Stick deodorant by Mennen, “SMELL GREAT ALL DAY.” The best that I can figure is that this was left by the B.O. Fairy. (I use Arm & Hammer deodorant.) Yes Sir I am just tickled silly by the B.O. Fairy. I am happy that I didn’t a get a mysterious bottle of mouthwash from the Bad Breath Fairy or a tube of toothpaste from the Dirty Tooth Fairy.

I'm still giddy about it. Especially considering that one of our opponents was the terrifying and damn near omniscient politics teacher.

Just came back from my 40th high school reunion, I had a great time seeing some of my old friends. Had a lot of good laughs, talking about old girlfriends, meeting old girlfriends, and having some great food. Although I couldn’t get over how old they are looking now. Big Grin

Well I got my annual bonus yestidy and I feel like a man what's worth ten-thousand dollars. Hell, I’ve got so much money that I don’t know what to do with all of it. Yep, I’ve been rolling in money and sipping hot tea, eating oysters and lobster caught fresh from the sea. I’m fixing to go to the bookstore and buy me a good book to read. After I have read it then I can wrap it up in Christmas paper and give it to my wife for a Christmas present.

Last night I took my wife to Los Portales which is a Mexican restaurant in town. They brought us some chips and salsa to munch on. I ordered us Fajitas for two. The Mexican waiter brought us out a smoking hot platter of Fajitas that was fit for the King of Rock & Roll. It was soooooo good that I thought that I was going to have to lie down to eat them. We couldn’t eat them all so we had the Mexican waiter to put the leftovers in a Styrofoam box so we could take them home. We did.

After supper we went to Gander Mountain and I bought me the biggest knife in the store. It is a bowie knife that has a nine-inch blade. Hot Dam! It is one sharp pig sticker and even has a brass guard and a cherry wood handle. I put what was left of my bonus in my wife’s checking account so she could go shopping and buy stuff that suits her fancy. Razz

Cycling or motorbikes?

I'm happy because my friend had a baby two weeks ago and I saw him for the first time today. He's so cute! Even if he was asleep the whole time!

Cycling. Not exactly hip with the semantics.

Good news on the baby, though. Been a while since I've seen a newborn. Actually not really, but it feels like it.

Well I am happy that I woke up on the right side of the bed this morning and the coffee was brewed when I walked into the kitchen. Yep, it is the simple pleasures in life that make life pleasurable. Things like having clean socks and new Fruit of the Loom underwear. I am happy that we had hot water and that our toilets were not stopped up where they wouldn’t flush the doo doo into the septic system. I am really happy that I can’t smell what’s in our septic system. We have only had to make repairs on that system once in sixteen years.

One might say that I am a better man at work today because I was on my fall vacation last week. I am happy that I shot a wild hog and there is plenty of frozen pork in our freezer. The U.T. Volunteers beat the Georgia Bulldogs last Saturday and I am not at all unhappy about that. My wife got home from a business trip to Minneapolis late Saturday night and I was not at all unhappy about that. We made some midnight magic and that was more fun than fishing with dynamite.

I am happy that I have not made a million dollar error on a cost estimate in quite a spell. It was just a simple rounding error. The key word here is simple. I am happy that I am not a simple man or an Elvis impersonator. I am also happy that I am retired from jumping out of an airplane with a parachute strapped to my back. Well I reckon I could go on and on about nothing but I was overdue to post here.

May God bless your mama and your daddy and your little bitty baby. Smile
