I see Phantom Delta has a new email address which reminded me that, for a laugh I created another for myself.

asa@stargatesg1.com

I suppose only Stargate fans would find it cool.
I don't use it so don't email me there!

In case any of you wanted something similar go to tunome.com. I hope I'm not contravening any rules here by giving that out. I have no connection with the company.

When I woke up this morning I felt better than I have felt in months. It seems that all that was ailing me has been cured. My left knee does not hurt and I am no longer limping. My back does not hurt. I feel as strong as seasoned hickory. Yep, I feel like opening up a brand new can of WHOOP ASS and buying my wimpy friends hamburgers. Yep, I stopped at a deli on the way to work and purchased sausages and bicuits a box of donuts. It costed me $23.53 but I don't even care because I am as rich as a foot up a mule's ass anyway. Hell, I've got more money than Carter's got liver pills. Today I feel like fighting and writing poetry and killing wild hogs!

Two things gave me a lot of pleasure today. One was at work... We are designing a dossier for an open air university in Kolkatta called ShantiNiketan which was started by Nobel Laureate Sir Rabindranath Tagore, the Indian poet famous for his antholgy of peoms - Gitanjali.

And as a part of this assignment, I was given this entire treasure trove of archival images to go through. It was all so awe-inspiring, this man whose poems I've read througout my school years, this man who has penned India's national anthem... i dunno, but it was such a goosebump moment. Just about perfect!

And then, after many many years one of my really old quoteland buddies got in touch with me on Facebook. I was just so happy to see her... and all this especially when "downsizing" is being discussed in the Suggestion Box. It was really really so nice. Smile I am deeply touched.

Early on, Tagore engaged himself in the search for a new Indian consciousnesss, and participated in the opposition against British colonialism. It wasTagore who gave Gandhi the title Mahatma (“Great Soul”), and next to Gandhi, he was a symbol of the new India. ~ Cultures of Creativity: The Centennial, Exhibition of the Nobel Prize p108

We have had sub freezing temperatures for more than a week in Tennessee. There has been both black ice and white ice on the roads. I am thankful that our water lines have not frozen or busted. I am happy that my blood pressure is 130/76 and my heart rate is 69. My left knee is getting stronger but it is not yet strong enough to kick someone in the ass. I am happy that my right leg is in good kicking order. Big Grin

I cant begin to express my happiness for finding a piece of music i loved, and lost the recording. I have been searching for this high and low for over 14 years now. And at long last I found it, tonight.

I am so glad of the internet sometimes. Smile

Jempeh,

Its a instrumental music piece by the great Indian Flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia (I am not sure whether you have heard of him/his music). Its from an album called Sounds of Silence. There are three pieces called 1. Sat(truth), 2. Chit(mind), and 3. Anand(Bliss).

And I found it on a site called dizzler.com.

When I was very young, about 11 I think, I read a book called 'Barbe Of Grand Bayou', by John Oxenham.

I had remembered it as an adventure story although I now know it to be a love story.

I tracked down a copy on the web and was halfway through reading it when one of our dogs decided to have a nibble. Funnily enough, the half she ate was the half I had already read!

A British author writing about French people - how very weird.
