I just don't get why any piece of clothing needs to be so much money...? I mean, do they do something different when making them that warrants that? Just curious, since I don't think I've ever bought a pair of jeans over $30...

Well, personally I'm a label whore. To each their own, I guess…but with the label you receive a guarantee on the quality. Example…you pay $145+ for a pair of Guess jeans and you know darn well that they’ll last you a while, with the wash, fade, cute, and design still in tact. Unfortunately, I see many people with worn-out jeans…not because they’ve worn them too many times, but because one wash spoiled em’. Quality does play a factor in it all.

However, I’ll always opt for David Bitton’s Buffalo jeans. All his jeans are either $97 or $130. Nothing in-between. Heh. Anyway, with his jeans, you’ll always get a vintage feel out of them…and, again, they last.

I dunno, Katie, I’ve never heard of $30dollar jeans. Nowadays, a fashionable, decent pair of jeans cost at least 100dollars…sometimes reaching the $200dollar market…and we’re not even talking about designer brands. A pair of True Religion jeans are $450. I won’t even go into how I managed to pay for mine. Razz

Come to Toronto, and walk around Yorkville, particularly Avenue Rd. and the Bloor West Village. The prices I’m discussing are nothing compared to those…

You know, some people will purchase expensive face-moisturizes, some will purchase expensive cars…I choose to purchase expensive denim, shoes and vitamin C facials. Razz

But in all seriousness…”expensive” clothing…simply looks much, much better.

**

On other news, The Pussycat Dolls make me happy. I'm sorry for calling you tasteless whores...you're definitely awesome whores. Big Grin

I found a pair of jeans at Dots for $10 dollars and they lasted me about 5 years without fading, so cheap is good!

But in better news, I decided what I'm playing on my senior recital! (It's exciting and scary to think I'm graduating college in just one year!!)

I picked up a pair of River Island Jeans on sale for R150(about $25)! Which is a bargain! They usually go for about R300.

I'm good at shopping for name brands, finding them on sale and in my size. I'm a shop-aholic. I don't go looking for specific items but when I find a great buy I get it. Big Grin

Well everyone, I finally did it.

Yes, 5 years later and someone decided I did well enough to earn a college degree in education and journalism. Razz Honestly, after pulling an almost-all-nighter, and partaking in a long ceremony (thank goodness the weather was beautiful this morning, since it POURED buckets last night, and we were all scared the ceremony would be indoors), I got back home a little while ago and it still feels surreal. I'm wondering how I actually made it through 4 hours this morning, AND got across the stage without tripping. Wow. Amazing. What was really cool is Joe Torre, the manager of the Yankees, was receiving an honorary degree there, so he was on campus and spoke to us. He's just like he seems in person, haha...very frank, but loveable.

Anyway, I just wanted to share all this with my Quoteland friends. I've been here since I was in high school, and you've all come along with me through some crazy years of college. Now it's over and I couldn't be more excited (and a little scared!!!) for the future! If my pictures turn out okay (that is, I don't look horrendous in my cap and gown), I'll post some on here.

Now I'm off to celebrate... Big Grin Hugs and love to everybody...

My defensive driving course is OVER and actually wasn't that bad. The instructor was hilarious AND I didn't get pulled over driving home, which I was fully expecting, life being fun that way.

I also get to call and schedule a different job interview today (yay!).

And finally, I'm thinking of blowing off the novel I have to read so that I can go home and visit my family, since I won't get another chance till June/July, maybe even August. Eh, actually, depending on when the interview people want me, I'm definitely blowing off the novel. Jane Austen can kiss my a**. Big Grin

Thanks Katelyn and EL!!!! Big Grin You guys are awesome, and I have yet to get my pictures back so I still don't know what they look like. If I don't like how I look, I'll put Angelina Jolie's face in there instead, hahaha.

And while I have no idea what direction I'm going to take in life (really, not a clue, does anyone else ever feel this way?!??!), it's fun imagining all the things I could do one day. I guess that's the easy part, the hard part is actually doing it!!! Like I was saying to my mom today...I have so many things I really love to do...but I just can't picture myself doing them forever. Hmm. Okay too much to think about, lol, and after a night of celebrating a little toooo much, that's the last thing my brain needs right now!! LOL

Thanks again ladies....and glad to hear you didn't get pulled over on your way back from the driving course, Katie. Smile

Help That would be me. And it's a year later...I know what I don't want, but...I'm in the "waiting place" and it's not much fun. But I'm super glad I was able to take a year off, I couldn't imagain what would have happened if I had gone straight to work, I super happy husband didn't let me go back to work for my old boss. something sound good, till you think about them.

Today, was good day. I like coffee. Kitty likes catnip...husband bought Katrinoe a katnip plant...kitty is currently rubbing all over the floor in my office.

I played the game of my life in our football (soccer) semifinal today. We went down 1-0 very early, before our team equalised. I was put through about 10 minutes after and slotted in my goal for the match, 2-1. In the second half, the other team equalised, and I decided to swap with our keeper and take up the gloves myself. I pulled off at least four saves to keep it level, and go into extra time. It stayed the same at extra time, and went to penalties.

The coin toss decided that I would have to be in goals for the first penalty. I dived one way, bloke shot straight above me, hits the post, deflects down, hits the line, and bounces in front of me. Very narrow escape. Our striker takes one look, slots in his penalty. 1-0. Their next striker runs up, connects...James saves! Wahey! Our other striker comes up, connects....2-0! Their midfielder (who scored both of their goals before) comes up, connects, I dive full stretch and save! Aaaah! Another player of ours takes his shot and sinks the team 3-0 in penalties.

I feel so...egotistical right now...Razz. We're in the fiiiiinal....!!!!

On 5-6-06 I drove to Huddle House for breakfast. At 7:05 a.m. I ordered Hash Browns, Scattered All the Way. (This includes onions, green peppers, ham and cheese on top of the hash brown potatoes). I am happy the cook didn’t scatter them all over the floor before they were served to me. When I went to pay my check they charged me $6.89 for a meal that cost $3.69 plus tax. It should have cost me $4.04. They charged me the price of regular hash browns plus the price for hash browns all the way, plus coffee. (I didn’t order coffee.) It took me 5 minutes to convince the management that they had overcharged me. I was less than satisfied with the service. I am HAPPY that I will not be going back to Huddle House except to see how they might screw up the bill on my next purchase.

Fun day. It was a nice spring day, in the middle of May. I made the kids play outside. It was way, way too nice to be inside. After lunch we went for a walk, had ice cream, then flew a kite (kinda, the wind would come a go), 5 year old went swimming, had strewberries. Then 7 year come home, gave him his snack, let him watch 10 mintues of tv, then it was outside. The 7 year old asked me "Do I have a say in this?" when I told him to put his shoes back on that we were playing outside. I said "Nope, not today you don't." Husband walked over from school, played football, soccor, and basketball (this time, not all at once). It was fun.

MBB,
Ooh, I love the stupid grin feeling! What does the boy look like? Smile

And I am happy because I HAVE A JOB! I have to wait like a week and a half for a criminal background check, but after that I am employed! Woo hoo! Hehe, and the manager was warning me that the staff is high-school age and very immature, which is awesome since I haven't been around high schoolers in awhile and will have a chance to study them prior to student teaching Laugh

And, and...if all goes well, I get to meet Airedale this weekend! Big Grin
