OK, found another Chicago postcard and sent it out to Mizz Busy Bee today (assuming I got the right number of stamps on it).

I'll send another round out to everyone else whenever I get the chance to buy more postcards...whenever that is.

Oh Good Show!! Glad you received it!

While browsing in Sandton City on Saturday afternoon, I came across a typically African shop called African Eco. Selling all African curios like assagais, springbok skins and fertility dolls etc. Found some awesome postcards that I couldn't resist getting. Big Grin

Took them home and showed my dad, he liked them but said that i should make my own postcards since I'm so creative. If I have time I'll take him up on the idea. Smile

Happy posting! Wink

Well I just sailed a card to my U.S. Senator, The Honorable Lamar Alexander.

It includes the latin phrase, factum durum uel factum nullum.

(I had requested a poscard from from D.C. to add to my collection.)

I also sailed a 5" X 7" card to Oak Forest, IL. A pc was also sent to Eyeyore which should arrive today.

It seems that I lost the entire batch of Skullbone postcards that I recently procured. I think they were inside a library book that I returned to the public library. According to my records the following folks have been "skullboned."

QOH-X, Sentra-X, Erlinda-X, Aude Sapere-X, & Clovis-X.

If U want to get skullboned-X then just hold yer water a spell.

Hey PD,

When Mr. Alexander makes the little Latin phrase his official motto and it becomes famous and sells zillions of keychains, I'd like my ten percent too. Wink Scream!

Indeed, there was a card in my box today, but since I hadn't checked mail in awhile (a week or so), it's post marked Feb 02.

Did they raise postage for postcards? You added an extra 1cent stamp. If they did, that sucks, I just bought a book of postcard stamps not that long ago.

I was going to say cards would be in the mail this week, but if they raised postage, then I'm not sure when they'll get mailed, seeing as how I'd have to go the post office (which is why I bought the book of stamps, so I wouldn't have to go there).

Mizz Busy Bee, they sell postcard backs with sticky front (postcard size sticker), you could use those. I got a few free with an order once.

If anyone who I don't currently have an address for would like a postcard from New Orleans, Pre Katrina of course, then pt or email me your address. I'll wait to sent to some new folks first, if not, then I send to those on my list.

If I've gotten a card from you since the last time I sent them, then you'll get one.

Two days ago I received a PC from Katelyn featuring the John Hancock Building at lakefront Chicago. It's an awesome arial view of the city. Thanks Katelyn!

I mailed 2 cards off yesterday. Think they were addressed to Katelyn and Ken, but my memory is a little jumbled at the moment. Will be posting some more off either today or tomorrow. Recipients are Phantom_Delta, Ananya, D_W, Beacon-of-Hope & EyeoreLynn.

Ananya - I mailed your postcards yesterday (finally! - it's been a busy week).

If anyone is interested, I have the following cards, just let me know if you would like any of them:

Memphis - one at night, one in daytime showing the pyramid, a National Civil Rights Museum card with a replica of Rosa Parks on the bus, one with a recipe for Memphis style barbeque ribs.

Nashville -skyline at night and one of skyline in the day

Several cards with Tennessee scenes of mountains, a waterfall, a mountain stream, a cotton field, bears in the Smoky Mts.

Dollywood and one of Dolly Parton with her guitar.

Alexandria, VA - Christ's Church and birthplace of Robert E. Lee

Washington, D.C. - the "space window" at the National Cathedral

If I don't have your address, just send that along with your request. Smile

My third postcard from South Africa arrived on Friday. It features an informal housing settlement of local folk. It is nice to get a postcard about every week. Wink

I have been considering starting my own postcards business. I aim to look into taking the photos and marketing my own post cards.

I am expecting the stork to deliver three new postcards this week.

I got a humorous postcard from Mizz Busy Bee the other day (hungry looking leopards looking at an overweight tourist saying "Kingsize, please"). Thanks! Big Grin

QH,

No,I am not personally acqauinted with the man who has the photos.

I thought that the Round House was in Cedar Grove and the Pig Pen is in Bruceton. Confused

The Round House Tavern in Cedar Grove closed about two or three years ago. It is ashamed that there was not a magazine article written about the place. It was opened in the 1950's and was owned by the original owners until it closed. The man and woman divorced and the man gave the woman the tavern but they both were usually on the property when it was open. It was a unique little hide-a-way bar that was semi-hidden off of Highway 70 at the corner of 424. The old woman would sit behind the bar and pick her nose but I never once saw her hook a booger. The place would close up at 8:00 p.m. every night as not to let folks get too rowdy or intoxicated. There was only one incident of violence there in more than 50 years. I might have gone there a dozen times in my life and it would amaze me to see some of the people that would sneak over there. There were a number of county officials, mayors, deacons and all sorts of decent folk who would go there occasionally.

(I've never been inside the Pig Pen because I heard that the locals were reputed to get nasty with outsiders. It didn't make any difference if you were a resident of Carroll County.)

All the rowdy taverns tend to go out of business on their own good time but the Pig Pen is still around.

Katelyn, you'd like the one I have, "Send More Tourists The last ones were delicious" with a picture of a Louisiana Alligator.

I made it to the post office and bought one cent stamps and I have 8 postcards.

I received another postcard from Phantom_Delta yesterday. It has a pier stretching out to a tree in the middle of the water with a stunning sunrise in the background. The tilte is "Sunrise at Keystone Park".
It's beautiful, thank you!

BOH, glad you love the PC of the Kruger Park, the next one you're getting has a similar theme.

LOL!!! OK, so I thought I would just order some postcards off Barnes and Noble's website to send out to people, since I haven't sent anyone postcards in awhile. And I wanted something different. So I saw this set called "Bizarre" and I thought, ok, well maybe there are just some bizarre things on the PCs, and that would be interesting. So I ordered them.

Turns out, what they meant by bizarre was S&M type stuff, with women gagged and dressed rather scantily. So erm...yeah. I'm going to order a different set, but I just figured I'd ask for the hell of it: would anyone like a "Bizarre" postcard? I've got 30 Big Grin

Just send me all 30 of those postcards, (if you please). LOL

My wife would have a full blown tizzy if I got a postcard with an S & M theme. You can put two of them in an envelope and mail them to me, please. I plan to send one to Clovis R. Stanley (he ain't got no wife).

I posted cards to K.K., T.W., D.A but I reckon the stork hasn't delivered them a-yet.
