For those who do not know at this time, to go to chat you click on the go link and then click the obvious choice.
Does anyone else see the chat room as being a possible outlet to those who argue vehemently against one another? Just out of curiosity, are there language filters and such because I can picture a few specific members really going at one another.
Other than that, interesting idea and I think we shall see over time how it turns out.
Perhaps there should be a chat room created for some of the major forums? Like a writing in general, a quote's chat room and also a general discussion chat room.
It would be interesting to see, as far as writing is concerned, whether live critiques and responses could be developed for a members poetry posted into chat. I doubt at this time there would ever be enough attention since the writings forums are as slow as they are now anyways but its a thought.

I've been exploring the new utilities in the boards, and found this link called Ignore Users. This option lets you prepare a list of users who tax your sensibilities and make up an Ignore list.
On a functional level it says,
quote:
For ignored users, replies in topics are hidden by default. In addition, you will not receive notifications of new content by ignored users and ignored users will not be able to start a Private Message with you.
I was tempted to use it myself, but as a moderator, I obviously can't. Although I am sure that many on these boards can use it instead of resorting to vehement arguements, as Aeras put it.

Thank god the mauve has gone. Orange is QL. QL is orange.
Chat room looks like it has potential, though the usual f's, c's and s's will need to be asterisked out, obviously.
And yes. It has improved the site. But I say again: Thank god the mauve has gone.

When I saw the purple, I thought that was going to be the new color....I re-logged in, hoping that maybe the orange would come back, and I was going to snap a picture of it so I'd never forget what Quoteland originally looked like. I'm glad it's back to normal, too!!
Also, I think the upgrades are going to be pretty nifty, esp. the chat feature. It could actually turn out to be positive....rather than users getting really heated on the boards and having them potentially locked, it can always be carried over to chatting. Still too early to tell, but with everyone keeping an open mind, we'll see what happens.

I have received from Z via PM a description of one "bug", and it appears to be a change in code format for the color feature. Still getting a handle on this. When reporting bugs, please be specific about what is happening (either here on the forum, email, or PM). I have the ability to issue trouble tickets to InfoPop/Groupee/Eve and we will get support for anything that needs fixing or clarification.
I have been trying to upload my original picture to the site, but its just not happening. I've tried linking them from both photobucket and facebook albums. But everytime I get an Invalid_URL error
Can somebody please help??? I miss my piglet very much.

This is a test. I've changed my sig photo to one I have in Photobucket. I checked the platform, and the sig photo says UBBCode images. That means it needs to have [ IMG ] before and [ /IMG ] after (without the spaces that I've included here. Here goes. Okay, it works. Sentra, I looked at your sig, and your photo is currently HTML format. It will need to be changed to BBCode format. Ananya: I tested the URL for your avatar photo and it doesn't work. It no longer points to where your avatar photo was located. You need to provide a valid URL before it will work.

Hey Ananya, I thought I went in and fixed it-- but I still don't see it on the post above. Maybe if you post again it'll work?
Back for an edit-- I see it now. Yay!
Sentra-- I went in and fixed your signature already, the way TN suggested. You'll have to post, though, to see if it works. Looking at the URL, though, I'm not sure if it will. Was your image hosted on QL's servers, Sentra?

I want to thank anyone who spends part of their day creating. I don't care if it's a book, a film, a painting, a dance, a piece of theater, a piece of music. Anybody who spends part of their day sharing their experience with us. I think this world would be unlivable without art. Thank you for inspiring me. -- Steven Soderbergh, on receiving his best director oscar for Traffic.
