Debate “Facilitator” on Quoteland will mean that and much more.
Facilitator here will be the person or persons that have accepted a position of authority on the Debate forum.
Participants during debate should follow what common sense would dictate as to what is acceptable behavior. A Facilitator will settle any situation that requires some sort of intervention of authority.
I invite EmeraldEyes and enola_catori to check in on this announcement to bring their own thoughts about their role as Facilitator. Other factors that have been discussed are:
1. The moderators of the other forums will not have authority on the Debate forum, except in the case of some sort of egregious violation that should receive immediate action.
2. The Facilitator’s decisions will be absolutely final.
3. My authority on the Debate forum will come into play only at the request of a Facilitator.
4. I think there is still an opening for another Facilitator, so maybe that can be discussed. As far as I am concerned nothing is written in stone, yet, so I’ll leave it open as to whether or not another debate Facilitator is necessary.

I am very grateful to EmeraldEyes and enola_catori for their willingness to assist me with this venture, and for their service to Quoteland and its members.

Quoteland without DF was unthinkable to me and I'm thrilled to have it back on the tracks again.

I'm only too pleased to play a little part in ensuring that the wonderful world of QL debating continues its proud tradition of fearless searching, high drama (not too high!), and occasional hilarity as well.

Quoteland itself is a wonderful resource to all of us who value the wisdom and opinions of others, and with that in mind, I believe the very nature of Debate, can go a long way to enhancing such a site as this in it's mission.

enola_catori ~ Great to have you back! What a blessing for the site.

Time and again since my tenure here I've seen "disrespectful" clashes, leading to the locking of posts (repression and resentment), the leaving of good quality members(still more resentment), and the out and out banning of some(unending resentment).

I've been watching this new development unfold and can say that this is a most welcome transformation! The two of you have always been fair and just in your outlooks and proceedings. It's great to have you on board and I feel very confident in your involvement. Good going!
