No! That won't be happening. As I told LWAS recently, I don't break promises

Is it your promise you don't break or your pride you don't want to break?

If QL was like family then nothing is too late for family. It's never too late. The only thing that might stand in the way is 'pride'.

You were good in DB but you were good because of us. I believe ... with out our contradictions, your world is a dull place.

A good point KnockOut.

It was my 'intention' to visit and post less here in Ql because of the changes that had taken place. If I feel that Ql returns to its former state then I might change my 'intention'.

Ananya, perhaps you could check whether you actually made a 'promise' or whether you stated a 'position' or an 'intention'. I believe that if it were the latter and you returned to the DF then Ql would take another step on the road to recovery.

Get Curious!

I left Quoteland under the impression that the current administration was overwhelmed with the awe of power, and that said administration had fallen out of contact with its members, and that said administration was extremely unlikely to change its policies.

In my honest and surveyed opinion, this travesty has at least had a serious attempt at amelioration. I will not say things are perfect; they aren't. However, I am suitably awed by the effort that TN and the administration team have put in to try and revitalize the QL community.

I am happy to withdraw my resignation from Quoteland (and eat a little crow). When I left, it was with the hope that I could someday return.

I now feel that time is now, and I applaud the efforts of the administration to take into account member's opinions.

Furthermore, I apologize for holding the opinion that the administration was unlikely to change its authoritarian stance. Thank you for proving me wrong.

Good to see you back Acrewts mate. Hopefully it's not just DF you're back for, but also writers'... ok? (Edit - a visit to the poetry forum showed me you are; great.)

BTW a question, the lifted bans imply that those that are unbanned can participate in all forums and not just DF, right?

Just wanted to belatedly thank you, EE, and all those in Admin for such a gracious gesture of goodwill; may all of us QL veterans reciprocate in kind.

What about those who insistantly asked the mods to ban them? Do they get reprieve?

TN should know what this means...

Asking for a voluntary ban and trying to spam it in a post is kinda different wouldn't you say.

Welcome back Fuzzies.

It's good to see all of the old crew whom I looked up to with such childlike awe. Welcome back- I eagerly await fresh, interesting, and witty debates. Thank you to the mods for helping to enlighten QLers via the return of these fine folks.

KO,

My world stopped being a dull world, the moment I left the DF at Quoteland. I'd infact put myself into a rut of reading insults day in and day out meted out to all and sundry... just because we chose not to agree with some.

Yet even after stating the above, I'd still say that you are wrong you know, its not about pride, for me... if it would indeed have been pride, I would have left the DF, in the very first instant I was put down by members of this site, years ago.

Moving on from DF, I discovered that I am much happy posting a quote or two on the Quotation forums than I am doing debates on DF. Besides, a lot has been happening in my life lately, which is taking centrestage now and leaves me with very little time to spend on the net. As such, I'd be more satisfied with my work on favQ and INAQ than doing time on DF.

You poke at the wrong characteristic in myself, when you say that I leave because of Pride. You should have actually been poking at my thick skinned persona. I never ever mentioned leaving Quoteland... other than that one better-not-mention-again time... and I have never really left QL.

quote:

I should know it the best, that sometimes when one's spirit is broken, even family, (however close the family unit might be), needs to give the individual time to sort things out for itself. Besides, who are you to talk about family, especially when all you could do in my crisis time on QL, was to make it all out to be a big joke. So please I'd appreciate it, if you refrain from making statements like that.

***

Asa,

I truly appreciate where you are coming from, but no it was indeed a promise... and yes I do not ever break them. I have forgotten a lot of things that happened at QL back in those days, and one of them is the context of the promise... I don't exactly remember when I gave it. but all that matters to me is that it is kept. Besides as I said too many things are happening on the personal front.

I have shifted into a new office Smile and am venturing out in a design business of my own. Its all quite exciting, and takes a whole lot of my time, as processes need to be put into place, when you start something new. but don't worry, I know its May... and I know your birthday is looming up ahead. :P I'll be here to wish you as always. Till then, best wishes for you are always being sent for you and for this awesome site, a place without which I would not ever have met any of you guys.

If ya wanna listen to my thoughts, maybe some of you guys can start coming to FavQ, instead of me coming to DF. Big Grin What say....????

This has all been a learning experience for me. Since the past cannot be changed, I must learn from it as I move into the future. Hindsight shows me how I could have handled things so much better. To those of you returning, welcome back. Smile

quote:
Look into a mirror at yourself straight in the eye with a lot of love and conviction in your gaze and say the following words:
”I promise to experience every incident in my life as an expression of Absolute Love.”
...and just see where you take yourself. You will find a lot of strength lying dormant within you, when you say this. The catch, though, is to say the promise both in happy and sad times. While the promise divides your sadness, it amazingly multiples your happiness. The quality of your joy will change a lot. Try it. As a personal creed it works fantastically well.
~ Ananya, from “what is your creed?”

As I promised you one day, I promise you again. That first Quoteland will stand. Come what may. Because dreams never die.
~ Ananya, from “look forward”

quote:
I did not say that I am leaving QL I just said that, right now I have lost what interest I've ever had. That does not diminish my love for the place, and if I come back again and again in the face of all the problems I've ever had here, it is only because I love the place.
