If tiny babies could remember focusing every Single smidge of their beings On sunbeams streaming through a winter's window, Would meditation classes or relaxation exercises, or drugs, Or any sometimes frantic attempts to find calm focus be needed? Would the good in others become more apparent ?
Sometimes I wonder . . .
If tiny babies could speak up, would they shout: Please hold me . . . In your arms, on your back, On your front, on your lap. The way it feels and how it smells The sounds of your heart feel so good. Even breathing feels better close to you. I can rest safe then. Would daily plastic containers be an option ?
Sometimes I also wonder . . .
If our ages were calculated Not by the years since birth, but by the years, Or months or days until we're done here... Would we connect To life differently ? To people differently ? To choices differently ? Would we feel more grateful For whatever we are given, For whoever is in our lives ? Would we find delight in today ?
