I've been living in the past a lot these days
I have stepped on fresher grounds,
but then I find myself unable to stand there,
feeling the need to re-walk paths that I've already walked.
My feet long to feel that soft, old earth
and to be comforted by the mere sense of familiarity.

I've driven up and down these roads once or twice before,
zooming by the scenery,
without noticing the small things that really mattered.
Now, I long for the sense of belonging
and the comforting feeling of knowing
that someone out there is thinking of me.

I glance back in the rearview mirror to my soul.
Everything is blurry and distorted,
and I become uncertain of where I've been or where I'm going.
All I can hope for is that there's someone beyond these vast fields
who can hear my silent prayers
and who will guide me to the place where I belong.

Some things can never be explained, like how our scars remain the same, and I wonder how the sky would look without my star. Sleep seems a dream away and a year too late. Words that can't be said stream off your face. Please don't forget my name and take me when you leave.

Well now, not much more changes should take place on this. I think, if its not already, its looking to be ready for poetry. Well done, well done.

HAVE A NICE DAY!

"I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are." -Milton Berle

"The mind has exactly the same power as the hands; not merely to grasp the world, but to change it." -Colin Wilson
