In a far land of sunny skies,
Gleaming blue waters of a lake,
Engulfed by lush green and open meadows,
Where flowers like daisies, flox, and pansies bloom,
With the season of spring filling the air,
And laying on the grass a gorgeous lady-
One lady, ‘Rose’ with long golden satin hair,
Flowing across her sweet
Peach skinned face,
And sweeping down, along her shoulders
towards her knees.
Some in tassels, crisscrossing her body,
And some on the grass,
Swept open wide among the pink daises.
And when dressed like a princess,
With a glow of peace and serenity,
In her wonderful, sapphire blue eyes,
A touch of a soft smile,
Subtly lining her face,
Not only made her more charming,
The environs looked like real paradise...,

But wait…

This is just the dream of a lone white wolf,
Surviving in a world which was dying

(Set in the times of a bleak future,
Six hundred years hence,
Which none of us will ever know.
Can only predict and fantasize)

With most of his friends,
In his pack, perished in a tragic encounter,
He seeks the land of paradise,
Befriending a few similar minded,
Lost surviving souls like him.
Being chased, driven to captivity,
By the few groups of human society,
Of the view, that these wolves,
Being a scourge on the streets,
And alleyways of the city.

(A city laying in ruins,
Its alleyways, and streets, that resemble,
Dark eerie hallways crisscrossing in a dungeon,
With rats and other creepy crawlies scurrying around for food.)

Gone human, in shape and size
In each others eyes,
But remaining as wolves,
To the world at large, likewise.

(Probably being a product Of a strange genetic experiment,
An experiment gone horribly, horribly wrong…
While the original species,
Stated to have been extinct for over 200 years.)

Set in a TV series animation,Such is the story…
…The Story of “Wolf’s Rain”
And a theme song, “Stray”Sung, by whom??…!!!

...Oops!!…
At this moment I forget Smile

The Story “Wolf’s Rain”

quote:
In some distant future, it's a common knowledge that all wolves have been extinct for 200 years. However, it seems that this is far from the truth. Wolves have not disappeared, rather they have taken human form. Kiba, a lone wolf, wanders into a city sniffing for the legendary Lunar Flowers that are said to be able to lead one to paradise with their scent.

Kiba, a lone wolf, wanders into a city sniffing for the legendary Lunar Flowers that are said to be able to lead one to paradise with their scent. The source of the scent is Cheza, a girl who sleeps in what appears to be suspended animation in a lab. She and the wolves are drawn to each other and Kiba hopes to find paradise once he finds the source of the scent of Lunar Flowers. However, when Kiba found Cheza, she was kidnapped by a mysterious person called Darcia. Hence, his search begins anew. Before he leaves the city, he meets 3 other wolves, Tsume, Hige and Toboe. All four wolves have very different personalities and ideas, and their friendliness towards each other is a little rough around the edges. However, they soon bond together to continue for the search to paradise.

The Idea of this poem came from the above quote but garnished with a difference and sprinkling of stretched imagination.

PS. The theme song is by "Tim Jensen"

Don't Be Afraid To Take Risks,
For You Are The Spirit,
That's Eternal
And Can Never Be Hurt

Now this is such an interesting format, Cevi. It made for a very 3 dimensional experience for a reader. It's very much an overall theme that speaks to everyone..... that is, the search for paradise.... and I enjoyed it's metaphorical elements very much.

Thankyou for sharing this piece. It's wonderful to have unique and unusual poems to read here.

Hi EE. Greatly encouraged to here that you liked my poem, thanx.

In India two or three months ago we started getting this new animation channel called Animax on cable, (with Japanese animation, mostly the manga kind) and Wolf's Rain is an Animated series which inspired me to write this poem.

I am not an avid watcher of cartoons that way, but for some reason this channel has me hooked and try and catch a program whenever I can.
