A lot of times music inspires me to write....especially when I'm sitting in the car listening to my headphones and looking out the window. Other times....my muse just comes to me, it's pretty random haha. But I'm different, I guess I always shut myself up somewhere when I write....I hardly ever write outside or in the open or anything like that. So that's me!

I will only write when I feel I want to, my inspiration can came from anywhere at anytime. It is often possible for me to write something every other night because I do have quite a busy muse, however that for me is not as important as really wanting to write.
I love english, I love words, but as a matter of principle I don't ever want any work of mine on Quoteland that is forced, that needs, instead of wants to be written and does not come from my own desire.
best wishes, Hope {Grant}

Sometimes, I am so exhausted by 'inspiration'. It's everywhere...I carry this notebook around (covered in snowboarding stickers to hide how ugly it really is) wherever I go, that way when inspiration strikes, I write. Some things move on quickly, though, and I let them get stale in the notebook because all desire to write about them is gone. I couldn't peg one thing as completely inspiring, like you have Yella. Wish I could! Then maybe my muse would give me a break sometimes. ::aggg:: belesprit ____________________________________________________________________________

Imbued, I'm the same as you. If I get something in my head and have no paper, by the end of the day my whole body is covered in ink!hah . Well I get my inspiration from boredom. I swear, I cannot look outside at the beautiful scenery and words start flowing, I cant be in a relaxed situation with no one around to bother me, I cant be sitting in my own little space with mood music playing, I have to be bored. Usually, I start to get things in my head during a very important test review class for biology, or at the dinner table, or listening to my math teacher ramble on about triginomotry! It's mad I tell you, mad! --Some days all you gotta do every mornin' is stand up and say "Satan, don't you be gettin' in my business today!"--

Many things inspire me. A book, another good poem, my past, my sisters, my brother, music.

Near enough nothing. I find it difficult to write, when putting pen to paper, my mind just goes blank as a white sheet of paper.
Are you looking for me? I am in the next seat. My shoulder is against yours. You will not find me in stupas, not in indian shrine rooms, nor in synagogues, nor in cathedrals: not in masses, nor kirtans, not in legs winding around your own neck, nor in eating nothing but vegetables. When you really look for me, you will see me instantly- you will Find me in the tiniest house of time. Kabir says: Student, tell me, what is God? He is the breath inside the breath.

i can easily be inspired to write by people and their backgrounds and whatever relationship i have with them. from brief meetings with strangers to long conversations with old friends....they all inspire me. i like to develop characters as much as possible when i write, so naturally it is people that interest me. nature inspires me a lot too....but usually for poetry, not stories.

Generally strong pain-related emotions, something that makes me hurt-a death, rough times at school, trouble with parents, seeing others suffer (this one especially). Surprisingly you don't see a lot of that really reflected in my writing. For two reasons. First of all, I personally can't stand reading someone's work that is all about some petty grievance that will pass (ie broke up with girlfriend/boyfriend), and would rather not subject others to it as well. For pain that I do feel isn't some pathetic teenage trauma, like...well more recently the death of a family member, I still almost subconsciously remind myself of what good is left, and what I have to live for, and inspiration and concepts naturally come from that. A lot of my prose (most of which I don't share..but maybe would like to) is all about finding unlikely beauty, and I guess that's just what has kept me up, no matter how shitty any situation is, I really do find a lot of hope in it. And beauty in tears. As for situations that inspire me? Settings? Anything that makes me ask questions. Something to make me think. Sure, sunsets are beautiful, but that isn't something I feel compelled to write about, but instead, maybe, how many other people, all around me and before me, have seen the same sunset-what are their stories? Also, traditionally "ugly" scenes inspire me. I love to challenge myself to see beauty in each one, and it really makes it fascinating to write about.

Bunnies. Bunnies are my inspiration. Though seriously, probably just a huge nebulous web of things... Frustration or beauty are magnets for pen and paper... And a quirky mood can spark rhyming capers... I don't know about others, but loneliness seems to make me write as much as anything else... When I'm feeling romantic or passionate about the world and I have no outlet it crystalises into dry ink... inspiration? Mostly, just words. When I do anything, I see and hear in word in my head. And anything can 'catch fire' in my ears. Whether it's someone else's words, or if it's a song, or a line from a song, or a part of someone else's conversation, or the feelings, or a passing glance, or anything really. although I usually catch it better when it's short- and if it's longer, then I have to read it by myself (usually). But I think that's because I don't hear myself as well repeating what they're reading in my head... and plus I don't have the attention span half the time. Inspiration is everywhere. Anywhere. It's annoying, and pleasing at the same time. Maybe it's not words, maybe it's just life.= ) -Harv Stella Splendens December 22, 1985-March 27, 2003

Inspiration is everywhere.. Earlier usually I would have spur-of-the-moment inspirations and I would write on impulse. Nature and “inspiration” used to be my inspirations, most of my works would be optimistic and fresh (that might be the positive aspect) and ‘unplanned’ and ill-structured -or unstructured - (that might be the negative aspect)(some of my earlier works posted at QL embarrass me !).. now, I think a bit before I write.. when I am inspired by some incident from my life, or some feeling of mine, I find myself holding back instead of writing something about it as I am not sure how much I would want to share on paper, or save in my computer, or post it in QL and another site.. if the theme’s more impersonal though, I try to write something on it.. [I do like autobiographical works as well, but I haven’t tried writing many myself..] In short, I think inspiration is everywhere and nature, my feelings, others’ gestures, suffering, another good book, or the mere challenge of trying to write something, can inspire me.. and I do think anyone can write on anything and make it interesting or ruin it.. By the way, it’s been fun reading your responses, guys!Good luck with your writings!

Yeah - being lonely sucks especially when you hear that dumb love song on the radio. It makes you do two things. One - write about being lonely. Two - write about being with someone. Either or it makes you write. Which is good - oui? Music is a big factor for me. I use to write a lot of love poems and the main inspiration was Mariah Carey. Her beautiful voice makes every word stand out. Also - Evanesence. (Sp?) Their music is crazy. I always feel like writing something after hearing one of their songs. So mainly music inspires me. Along with the occasional feeling of loneliness. ¤Deep in the valley, carved on the rock, three little words, Forget Me Not.¤
