A friend and I had a little argument recently over who sang on a Shell advertisement: Bing Crosby or Michael Holliday. Turns out that both sang different songs (to the same melody) on different Shell ads.
Seems a strange thing to do and I wondered who came first. All I can find is that the ads were shown in the 1950's. One for Bing and three for Michael.
