I'm asked to read a poem at a wedding. The bride says the poem was translated from Portuguese and she doesn't know the title or author. To me it appears to be Gibran's style. Can someone help?

quote:
Your ways are now one way;
Your souls, one soul.
You will not know how to distinguish in each other
your traces or hers; your gestures or hers.

It is not necessary to extend your hand
to reach one another.
It is not necessary to speak in order to
hear one another…

And nor the world, nor the war, nor the death—
Nothing will be able to separate you,
Since you will be more than ever
One body and one heart.

May man not separate what God has joined.
May time not destroy the union that binds you,
Nor the love that you live today.
Your ways are now one way;
Your souls are now one soul.

--Thanks for your help!

Almost all Internet searches lead right back to this posting, seemingly indicating that what you have posted here is original. In other words, not Gibran or anyone else.
quote:
...true ONEness intimacy exists when a couple shares all three parts of themselves with each other. It isn't enough to share one part of yourself with your spouse, not even two parts. God made you to blend in totality. You become one spirit, one body, and one heart.
When you have true ONEness, you seek God together and grow closer to each other by growing closer to Him

By the by, give this short poem a read:

It could be that the translation from Portugese to English also stymies the search depending on who translated it.
