I read once of a politian who stated that his opponent was "an admitted homo sapien who masticates several times a day", or something close to that. Anyone know who it was and where i could find a resource that references it?

I can't find it in my policital quote book, but is it a Quaylism? Or a pseudo make fun of Quayle Qualism? It has that flavor to it. Too many words misplaced.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm sure it wasn't Dan Quayle. I read this in the 1970s, before Quayle was known.

And the speaker was aware of what his words meant. His tactic was intended to fool the unsophisticated public into voting against his oponent. I think this occurred about a century ago.
