In my mind's eye, I see,

three circles joined in priceless, graceful harmony.

Two full as the moon, one hollow as a crown.

Two from the sea, five fathoms down.

One from the earth, deep under the ground.

The whole, a mark of high renown.

Tell me, what can it be?

This riddle is written and recited by the character of Calibus in the movie, The Clash of the Titans. I am curious as to who actualy wrote it. Was it the screen writer or was the riddle an actual riddle during the mytical era that movie took place? In any event it is a world class riddle.
