I have known part of this quote for years, but can't get the complete thing. It starts with: "I (will) walk this way but once." It continues something like: Whatever good I can do, whatever kindness I can . . . . Please, a source.

I shall not pass this way again...
"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing,
therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow human
being let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not
pass this way again.~Stephen Grellet, 1773-1855
French-born Quaker Minister

The "search" feature of these forums works intermittently, and I happen to catch it when it was working.
We've been all over this before. In the past we have also concluded this was William Penn and unattributed.
I got all over this once, and finally decided to “give it up”
Found attributed to Sam Walter Foss, Stephen Grellet, William Penn, Mahatma Gandhi, and even Stephan G. Rellet

This webpage says it is adapted from the original version:
quote:
"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."

Yeah, the QL Search Engine wasn't working when I checked and I knew there was an earlier post.

Thyanks for helping me with this sort-of quote. Everyone was on the ball and cleaned up the information for me.
