| Later on people used different phrases to gain typing speed. Some said "Now is the time to come to the aid of their party." Others used "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs," which made more sense to me because it contains all the letters of the alphabet. The phrase was proposed as a typing drill by a teacher named Charles E. Weller, because it exactly fills out a 70-space line if you put a period at the end. Incidentally, there are so many variant of that sentence as follow:
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their countrymen, blah blah blah... Now America's elites must come to the aid of their country Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of this country in it's hour of need. Now Is The Time For All Good Men [and Women] To Come To The Aid Of Our Country Now Is The Time For All Good Men To Come To The Aid Of Another Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party Now is the time for all citizens to come to the aid of their all good Republican candidates. Now is the Time for all good men come out from the Bronx to Albany because of his constitutional right to have a fair trial. ~Reverend Al Sharpton, (Amadou Diallo, an unarmed immigrant from Africa, was fired on by four police officers) Now Is The Time For All Good Antelopes To Come To The Aid Of Their Banana: Now is time to resist fear, prejudice, stand tall for ... All of us are scared, for our country, for our economy
